Practitioners

Michelle T. Pelle, M.D. is board-certified by the American Board of Dermatology and she specializes in medical care for autoimmune and allergic skin diseases, skin cancers and general adult and pediatric dermatologic disorders. She is a Principal Investigator in clinical research trials that study the effectiveness of therapy for many skin diseases. Additionally, she has over 15 years of experience in the performance of cosmetic and laser skin rejuvenation procedures.

Dr. Pelle was born and raised in Pittsburgh, PA. She earned her Doctor of Medicine degree in 1997 from Jefferson Medical College in Philadelphia, PA. She completed an Internal Medicine Internship at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center, followed by a Dermatology Residency at Geisinger Medical Center in Danville, PA. She then completed a two year Clinician-Educator fellowship as an Instructor at the University of Pennsylvania, where she specialized in autoimmune and medical dermatology. She has held Assistant Professorships at Boston University and at the University of California, San Diego. In 2006, she established MedDerm Associates to offer a service-oriented center for the focused management of skin disease. Dr. Pelle is married and has one son and one daughter. She enjoys art and design, skiing, kettlebells, and being a Mom.

Michael Lee, M.D. is a board certified dermatologist that was born and raised in the Chicago area. He graduated with honors from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign with a major in biomedical engineering and a minor in business. He then earned his medical degree at the University of Illinois at Chicago, where he graduated in the top 4 percent of his class and was inducted in the prestigious Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society. After finishing his Internship at MacNeal Hospital in Berwyn, IL, Dr. Lee completed a clinical research fellowship in Houston, TX where he led various industry-sponsored clinical trials involving new treatments for psoriasis, eczema, acne, shingles, genital herpes, pre-cancerous skin lesions, and melanoma. He then went on to complete his Residency in Dermatology at the Medical College of Wisconsin where he was consistently recognized for his commitment to quality patient care. He is excited to join MedDerm Associates and use his expertise in general, surgical and cosmetic dermatology for the San Diego community. When away from the office, Dr. Lee enjoys pursuing his passions of personal fitness, traveling, playing piano, and exploring the local food scene.


Patrick Blake, M.D. is a board-certified dermatologist. He grew up in the Cleveland, Ohio area and graduated from Ohio Wesleyan University with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology. He attended medical school at the prestigious Cleveland Clinic Lerner College of Medicine. He researched rare dermatologic diseases at the Howard Hughes Medical Institute/National Institute of Health; it was during this time he developed his passion for dermatology. He was honored to be chosen by faculty and peers as his medical school commencement speaker. He went on to complete his Internship at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center and his Residency in Dermatology at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center. He served as the Clinic Chief Resident for one of the country’s largest Veterans Affairs Medical Centers in Dallas, Texas. He was also involved in the design and execution of an ongoing clinical trial for cutaneous (skin) lupus. Dr. Blake teaches at UCSD as a Voluntary Clinical Instructor. Dr. Blake serves on several professional societies, but especially enjoys the American Academy of Dermatology Youth Education Committee. He has spent months abroad providing medical care in places such as Vellore, India and Lamay, Peru. In his spare time, he enjoys the company of family and friends.


Sarah Moore, M.D. is a board-certified dermatologist specializing in medical, cosmetic, surgical and oncologic dermatology. She graduated Summa Cum Laude at the University of Kansas in Chemical Engineering. She attended medical school at the University of Kansas School of Medicine where she was inducted into the prestigious Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society. She completed her intern year at Sacred Heart Medical Center in Spokane, Washington, followed by her dermatology residency at the University of South Florida in Tampa. She excels in patient-centered care and helps her patients feel and look their best. Dr. Moore enjoys traveling internationally, hiking, skiing, and taking care of her houseplants.


Vincent Ho, M.D. is a board-certified dermatologist. He earned his medical degree from the University of Kansas School of Medicine in Kansas City and was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society in recognition of academic excellence and leadership. He then completed his dermatology residency at the University of Kansas Medical Center, where he served as Chief Resident of Cosmetics. Throughout his medical training, he remained actively involved in community care, volunteering regularly at clinics to provide care to underserved populations. This experience reinforced his belief that high-quality dermatologic care should be compassionate, accessible, and patient-focused. In addition to clinical work, he has authored numerous peer-reviewed publications and is actively involved in professional organizations, including American Society of Dermatologic Surgery, and American Society for Laser Medicine and Surgery. He remains committed to staying current with the latest advancements in dermatology to provide safe, effective, and modern care to help patients feel comfortable, confident, and empowered in their skin. Outside of the clinic, Dr. Ho enjoys staying active through fitness, traveling internationally, exploring new restaurants, hiking, and enjoying the sunset at Sunset Cliffs Natural Park.


Ashley Calanni is a Certified Physician Assistant with over seven years of experience in dermatology and prior expertise in vein disorders. Originally from Redding, CA, she moved to San Diego to attend San Diego State University, where she graduated Cum Laude with a BA in Anthropology, enriched by a study abroad experience in Malta. Her early career included impactful work with the Red Cross of San Diego, volunteer roles in hometown hospitals, and a healthcare mission in Tanzania—experiences that deepened her dedication to healthcare. In 2017, she earned her Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies from Western University of Health Sciences. Outside of her profession, Ashley enjoys spending time with her husband and two children, often at the beach, hiking, or discovering new restaurants. She also loves traveling internationally, especially to Italy, to visit family.
